Language And Its Accents

Accents! There are loads of accents across the world and are due to the geographical location, culture and unique characteristics of a certain language. This further emphasizes the beautiful variety and vastness among the peoples of the world.

There are however some famous accents found in certain parts of the world where by though one speaks their second or third language, the listeners can still figure out their mother tongue due to the accent used.

Common Accents Include;

  • British English
  • American English
  • French
  • German
  • Australian English

The above are some of the commonest languages that have a strong accent that influences certain people’s speech even while speaking a different language. For example, it’s easy to tell a French man even when the language he’s speaking is not French by his accent.

However, accents might differ even in the case of the same language. Yes, this happens to at times and is caused by many factors that might include geographical differences. For example, Germans in Berlin found in the northeast have a German accent varying from that of the Bavarians in south east. One can say that the German in Berlin is a bit modernized while that of Bavaria is rich and rough.

Why Accents May Disrupt Communication?

Without communication there would hardly be anything going on or being done and may be everything would fall apart. And therefore everything has to be done for purposes of effective communication.

Unfortunately at times people of the same language might fail to understand each other to the fullest as a result of different accents and that is why hired interpreters who are not exposed to foreign regions find it hard while interpreting for certain audiences.

Non connection of accents causes misinterpretations and misunderstandings thus undermining communication since the message intended for the audiences might not come out as the source intended it to be.
That is why at all times where communication is concerned, it is only advisable that professional and qualified translation services and interpretation services are employed.

People aspiring to become professional translators should think of traveling more to foreign countries and regions for exposure. Once one listens to people from different countries speak a common language, they learn to understand the various accents; remedy for professional interpreters and translators.

How Language United Rwanda After the Genocide

Beauty, pretty, women, beautiful women are just some of the very few words associated with a not so big country on the continent of Africa; Rwanda.
Rwanda is quite popular for a country its size, it is quite a small country with a population of about 11 million people and at 22,338 square kilometers size can be equated to the size of the state of Maryland in the United States of America.

People all over the world sing the praises about how beautiful the women from Rwanda are, especially those who have had a chance to visit this country that is found in the Eastern part of Africa.

Features Associated With Women From Rwanda

The physical features of the women in Rwanda are majorly characterized of small faces, long necks, small upper bodies and wide bottoms and not forgetting the fair complexion.

They have a calmness about them especially during conversations that attracts many foreigners. Yes even the women who visit Rwanda will testify to this very calm demeanour.

Speaking of conversations, people in Rwanda used to majorly use Kinyarwanda and French for this. Though later the English language was included on to their official language list therefore, most of them especially from the older generation are struggling to adapt to English.

Language role in uniting the people after the Rwanda genocide.

Apart from the beautiful women, Rwanda was pushed into the lime light by the unfortunate 1994 genocide that saw an estimated number of about 800,000 people being massacred and brutally killed with Machetes, clubs, stones and any other thing capable of body mutilation and death in as few days as 100.

This came as the Hutu ethnicity tried to wipe out those of the Tutsi minority ethnicity. This was an ugly 100 days in the history of Rwanda however, time with its magical powers started to heal the country and its people as a whole.

The language factor must have been very important in the establishing of peace in the then so devastated country because as much as the Hutu and Tutsis thought they were different, they all spoke the same language and it stood out as the common factor in this trying era.

Kinyarwanda is the main language spoken in Rwanda and is a mother tongue to both the Hutu and Tutsi ethnicity. Though there are other languages as a result of influences from the bordering countries and the former colonial masters.

Languages Spoken In Rwanda Are;

  • Kinyarwanda
  • French
  • English
  • Swahili

Therefore communication is a very important aspect in life generally and once it is tampered with, atrocities like the Rwanda genocide break out. Therefore language is vital to communication and everything possible to make it understandable should be done. This could be translation, interpretation, sign language interpretation and much more.

International Marketing Translation In Asia

It shouldn’t be so hard to notice that most Asian languages and alphabets are very different from the usual ones. There is a unique pattern of characters in their alphabets and some have way too many characters as compared to others.
Therefore if one is interested in setting up a business in the Asian community, then translation should be a priority above all else.

International Marketing Translation

Translation here comes in in very many ways so as to get the service, product or message to the intended and targeted audience. Here the business’ marketing team ensures that all material about the product being put forward is translated to the languages; in this situation to the Asian languages with unique alphabets like;
  • Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Vietnamese
Sometimes it is not only about language translation, but rather the unique characteristics of every individual language that have to be put in mind while doing the translation.

People love purchasing or hiring a service whose function they have thoroughly understood. It should be noticed that every time a customer picks up a product from a shelf, they first look at the description or writing on it to understand more about it before deciding on whether to buy it or not.

This happens because at the end of the day, it is the customer going to pay for the service or product, meaning they have to really ascertain that the product they are purchasing is worth the money they are parting with.

Why International Marketing Translation Is Important?

There are people who for medical reasons are not supposed to take in certain ingredients for their good health purpose and therefore have to understand what the product they are buying is composed of. But this can only be made possible if the purchaser fully understands the language in which the ingredients are written.

Then when it comes to the unique characters that make up many Asian language alphabets, it is only professionals in a particular language that can translate, characters inclusive to bring out the exact meaning or description as intended by the manufacturer.

With such translations the intended use or work of the internationally marketed product can be fully fulfilled which is to the satisfaction of both the end user and manufacturer. This is because when a customer is pleased with the results, then chances are high that they will come back and purchase more.
